Thank you for your interest in making a donation to Alpacas for Natives. We are dedicated to the marriage of the alpaca industry and the Navajo and Hopi weaving industries and to the preservation of alpaca husbandry and this Native American art form. Donated animals are given to qualified Native Americans, living below the poverty level, but possessing grazing rights on the reservation, who express an interest in raising alpacas or who want guardian animals for their sheep while providing fleece to the family weavers. Applicants to receive the animals must display knowledge and experience raising sheep and other livestock on the open range. They must have corrals and shelter where necessary. Most males are gelded to prevent unwanted pregnancies and unnecessary fighting. Many females are bred before being placed in their new homes, where they are situated with an appropriate herd sire for future breeding.

As a federally approved 501(c)3 public charity, we are authorized to accept tax deductible gifts of animals, fleece, cash, and other items. The dollar value assessed to your gift is a matter of the donor's personal preference and all responsibility for the suitability of such a tax benefit lies with the Donor and their accountant.
